Theme- Is there such a thing as a "Just" War?

We all know there are many reasons why a country might fight in a war, examples could include a need for "growing room", a need for resources, etc.

We also know sometimes countries are forced into wars they have to protect themselves or defend others.

The question is can either of them say what they are doing is morally "right"?  Furthermore, are certain types of warfare more "forgivable" than others?

Activity-

First the class will be divided into groups, these groups are expected to brainstorm different reasons why a country might fight in a war.

Then the paperwork below will be distributed to each group.

Next each member of the group will be given a role within the President's Cabinet to play in the activity.
Each group will then join together to decide which types of war they would be willing to use in a conflict.
Lastly each group will make a poster listing

1.  Reasons why they would go to war.
and
2.  Fighting tactics they would be willing to use.
