There are four sections to the Cold War Unit and each comes with “activities”.  Each activity has a video along with info and quizzes.  We will go through these in class, but if you are not here you will have to do them on your own.  Points will be counted for the quizzes.

Alternative Assignment (Two Paragraphs each)

1.     Describe the development of the Cold War.  What do you think the United States might have done differently to stop the Cold War from developing?

2.     Describe how the Cold War occurred in China.

3.     Define NATO and the Warsaw Pact and what led to their creation. 

4.     During the Cold War the tensions were very high between the United States and the Soviet Union.  Why do you think the U.S. and Soviet Union never fought a war directly against one another?

5.     Describe the collapse of Communism in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union.  Do you think the collapse of communism made the world a safer place?  Why or why not?
